Is flag football a contact sport? Blocking and contact rules

Not really. Every rulebook here limits contact. NFL FLAG and both USA Flag books ban blocking and screening. IFAF is non-contact. College is the exception: a screen block is legal if the blocker does not start contact.

Limited contact keeps young players safe. It is a big reason families pick flag football.
